READING THE DATA
What the Toledo estimate means.
The CDC PLACES 2025 release estimates that 39.3% of Toledo adults aged 18 and older have obesity, based on 2023 data. This is a modeled city estimate using self-reported height and weight, with a 95% confidence interval of 34.9–43.9%.
The figure describes a population estimate, not a measurement taken in 2026 or an individual diagnosis. Toledo city, Lucas County and Ohio are different populations; their numbers should not be substituted for one another.
One conversation, many ways to participate.
This is public education and community discussion, not individual medical advice. Choose an action that fits your situation, and ask a qualified health professional about personal treatment or activity needs.
You can watch the public YouTube show without a Fruit Up account. Existing members keep their separate Zoom access. Read the participation guidelines.
